That’s One Big Black Hole!

Well, this story is not exactly one from “Under the Sun,” but after considering what I wrote about regarding our immensely enormous and complex universe in the “Binary Equation” post, I thought this was a highly interesting article. Don’t get too “sucked” into it though… 🙂

Clever pun…”Don’t get too “sucked” into it though…” You are SO cute. So excited for your blog! Way more excited about your coming home though!

I love reading about space! Interestingly, the NGC 1277 galaxy was first discovered by Lawrence Parsons of Ireland way back in 1875. It wasn’t until 2012 however that astronomers using the Hobby-Eberly Telescope at Texas’s McDonald Observatory, reported the discovery of a supermassive black hole in the disc’s galactic center. I always get a kick out of how news stories say scientsts were “baffled” by their discovery. I’d venture they were more excited than anything. 🙂
